Instrument Return and Rental - A Message from Mr. Alberts, Instrumental Music

Greetings Walls Community,

First, any Walls student still in possession of an instrument from last school year please return that instrument to Walls no later than Sept 9th by 2:30pm, room 211. Please label the instrument with your name so I can Identify who is returning. Feel free to reach out via email christopher.alberts@k12.dc.gov if you have any questions.

Any student enrolled in Orchestra, General Music (with Mr. Alberts), and/or piano lab for the 1st semester and needs an instrument the rest of this email is for you.

My plan is to try and make this as normal a school year as possible which means a rigorous and varied exposure to instrumental music. As such I will be passing out instruments in stages for the various classes. We will wait until the 2nd week of school to make sure that the schedules are finalized so I do not pass out an instrument to a student that does not need one.

Orchestra - I have a limited number of instruments available for rent, a one-time fee of $50 can be paid via cash, check or money order made out to School Without Walls. Sept 9th from 1:00pm-2:45pm at Walls in room 211. Please be sure that you are planning on staying in the class prior to picking up an instrument If you already own an instrument, then great!

General Music (guitar)- Again this is for Mr. Alberts General music class only!!!! I have a limited number of instruments available for rent, a one-time fee of $50 can be paid via cash, check or money order made out to school without walls. Sept 9th from 1:00pm -2:45pm at Walls in room 211. Please be sure that you are planning on staying in the class prior to picking up an instrument If you already own a guitar, then great!

​Piano Lab - Usually for this class you would not take a keyboard home. I cannot teach you to play a piano if you do not have a keyboard or piano to practice on.
