2021 Marks Walls’ 50 Year Anniversary!

School Without Walls Walls High School will be celebrating its 50th Graduating Class this coming spring 2021!

Walls HS started as an alternative high school with a few dozen students meeting in a downtown office building space; after several moves it settled into its current space at Grant School at 2130 G St NW and has grown to an enrollment of 600. Its students have come from all corners of the city and have gone on to many personal and professional achievements across the country and the globe.

Anniversary Reunion Events

• Zoom Celebration: Friday October 8th from 6 pm - 7 pm

  A Zoom Open House is planned for the High School, so alumni can virtually tour the building where most alumni attended. The School's renovation was completed in 2009. The event will feature past principles, alumni, and performances by current students.

  Send us your favorite photo or a 50 second video with your name, graduation year, who you're most excited to see, and your favorite SWWHS memory. Send your photos, favorite walls memory and videos to alumni@swwhsa.org.

• Blow out 50 Candles: Spring 2022 (tentative)

  A birthday cake celebration of the 50th is set for at Busboys and Poets on 14th Street NW at V St NW.

These is no cost for these events. The School hopes individual classes and friends will organize their own gatherings for those evenings as best works for them.

Donate to the HSA In Honor of the Anniversary

In honor of the Staff and Students whose efforts have made a lasting mark on the city and other communities, the committee is suggesting "$50 for the 50th" donation in support of the school via the Home and School Association! Other donations of any amount, more or less, or planned gifts, are most welcome (though not required to participate).

Consider including the School Without Walls Home and School Association via “planned giving” in your estate plan.
