Welcome Back Staff and Students-In Person Learning
Good Morning School Without Walls Community,
The purpose of this email is to share we are excited to welcome back staff and students for SWW In-Person Learning. It has been almost 1 year since we have implemented an academic program in the building. Administration has worked collaboratively with DCPS, our custodial team, and The Community Corps (LSAT, SCAC, Parent Representatives) to prioritize safety for returning faculty and students.
During the program we will share updates to inform the school community of program highlights and important information. Finally, if we receive an announcement about inclement weather administration will communicate with all in a timely manner. Thank you for your continued support!

School Without Walls Community,
Administration would like to welcome back faculty, staff, and students to In-Person Learning! We are excited to begin an academic program of support and offer SWW students an opportunity to engage with teachers on Wednesdays. On Mondays and Tuesdays, our students will sign on virtually in assigned CARES Classrooms and continue virtual learning and engagement with staff and peers.
The Monday and Tuesday CARES Classroom schedule is 9:30AM – 4:00PM. Students will follow their academic schedule and will receive a lunch break during the school day. DCPS will deliver daily bag lunches and breakfast to students participating in the program. Our support staff and substitutes will supervise Monday/Tuesday classrooms, and will maintain a positive learning environment, and assist students with accessing learning materials online. Our Monday and Tuesday support staff are prepared to facilitate safe arrival, and dismissal during the school day.
School Without Walls would like to welcome designated faculty for In-Person Learning on Wednesdays. Our teachers are planning exciting and relevant topics designed to pique student interest and engagement during class sessions. The purpose of the Wednesday sessions is to introduce students to School Without Walls and to allow our new students to get to know one another outside of the typical subject area courses.
The Wednesday cohort is assigned to one teacher from 9:00AM -Noon. At the end of the session, there will be a staggard dismissal and students will receive a grab-and-go bag lunch. The staff, faculty, and administration look forward to welcoming and greeting our 9th Grade students.
SWW Administration would like to thank our students, faculty and staff, and the school community for your support as we prepare to welcome School Without Walls students to in-person learning. A special thank to our custodial team who followed COVID-19 protocols to prepare for the arrival of staff and students. To our returning families and staff, we are committed to following all safety protocols in the DCPS COVID Handbook during the instructional program. Welcome back returning students and staff!
