Update on SWW Walkthrough and Reopening Plan

SWWHS Community,
The SWWHS administration and faculty are looking forward to welcoming back students for in-person opportunities for Term 3 on Monday, February 1.
As a reminder, please see our Term 3 reopening plan (shared via the January LSAT meeting).
Term 3 student cohorts were communicated to families earlier this week.
The Administration Team, with representatives from the Reopen Community Corps (RCC), SCAC, and with support from DC Public Schools central office conducted a walkthrough of the building on Tuesday, January 26. Please note due to inauguration-related security measures, DCPS required the building be closed January 13 through January 24. As such, we were unable to conduct the walkthrough per our original timeline.
As a result of the walkthrough, health and safety issues were identified with regards to:
Plumbing: These have since been resolved.
HVAC system: These have been prioritized by the DCPS Facilities team and are actively being worked as this update goes out. We are optimistic they will be resolved this week.
We will circulate and publish communication of the walkthrough, issues raised and resolutions once it has been finalized, but for now, on behalf of the SWWHS administration, I want to share we are excited to welcome students back and we look forward to a safe reopening.
