Penguin Pride: Emmett Brosowsky to attend National Speech and Debate tournament in June

This weekend Walls student Emmett Brosowsky was selected as one of three students in the mid-Atlantic region (Maryland, Delaware, and the District if Columbia) to attend the National Speech and Debate association national tournament in Albuquerque New Mexico the week of June 16, 2020. 

Emmett was selected to compete at nationals in US Extemporaneous speaking, was a district finalist in Big Questions debate, and competed in Student Congress. Over 200 students from 26 public and private schools in Maryland, Delaware, and DC participated in the Chesapeake district qualifying tournament this past weekend.

It should be noted that Emmett’s accomplishment is quite extraordinary for a ninth grader given that most of his fellow competitors were juniors or seniors in high school.
