LSAT Meeting: Wednesday October 7 @ 5:30pm

Hey all, and happy fall!

The next LSAT meeting is this Wednesday, October 7th,  at 5:30 pm at our same virtual hang-out, Microsoft Teams.

Please email me at marionababcock@gmail.com for the link.

October is an important month for parent involvement.

First, this is when DC does an attendance count for each school and that data affects the money in our budget. Because we are virtual, I have not yet heard the specific day this data will be collected. However, Walls students are showing up for class consistently and that is a major reason our school succeeds. The daily grind of being a virtual world can be tough, so keep up the great work!

Secondly, DCPS is beginning to reopen. What does that look like for Walls...we are not sure yet. I've inquired with Amy Maisterra, Deputy Chancellor, about our HVAC system and was told the planning process will flow through our school's leadership team. Principal Trogich will update the LSAT regarding the DCPS walkthrough of our facilities and readiness of our HVAC system. When parents show up to listen and share constructive concerns at these open meetings, it helps leadership and LSAT reps to craft a response reflective of our school community.

Our agenda will include the necessary administrative stuff, but then it becomes informative. Please refer to the school's CSP and SGA which will be referred to in the meeting.  I do open the meeting for attendee feedback, so we hope to see you there!

  1. Approval of September meeting minutes

  2. Finalization of LSAT roster/committee members.

  3. School/DCPS budget awareness session with Walls Parent Joe Weedon

  4. Update of student attendance and importance of upcoming student count

  5. Update on school building reopening.

On behalf of the LSAT committee, please join us!
