Dear School Without Walls High School Families,

We realize that this is an uncertain time as our city grapples with coronavirus (COVID-19). Despite the challenges and concerns this situation presents, we want to assure you that School Without Walls faculty have developed academic plans to ensure your student’s education continues during a period of school closure.

School Without Walls teachers have prepared distant learning assignments for students to access March 24 to March 31. The assignments will be uploaded to Canvas or Aspen and students can go to dcps.instructure.com (Canvas) or https://aspen.dcps.dc.gov/aspen/logon.do (Aspen). Students will enter a username/password: your student credentials and select your course. Canvas is the Learning Management System in which students can access assignments created by their teachers.

In addition, DCPS will provide additional tips and ideas to engage your student on DCPS social media accounts, as well as the family resources section or the distance learning site. Students and parents may also access teacher assignments on https://aspen.dcps.dc.gov/aspen/logon.do. All students and parents should have a login to Aspen. If you do not have an Aspen login, please communicate with Ms. Hanley to receive this important information. Megan.Hanley@k12.dc.gov.

Administration has met with teachers and discussed Distant Learning expectations. Students are expected to read and complete assigned work posted on Canvas or Aspen by their teachers before returning to school April 1st.

Parents and students, administration is sharing important dates we ask that you keep in mind during school closings. As of March 13th, the Mayor of the District of Columbia and the DC Public Schools Chancellor, have put the following closures in place.
