ATTN CLASS OF 2021: DCPS to offer SAT on Weds October 14 - Registration Required

DCPS will offer SAT Testing to Seniors (CLASS OF 2021 ONLY) this Fall. DCPS will NOT offer the PSAT this Fall. Assuming it is safe to do so, DCPS will offer the PSAT Spring 2021, to 9th – 10 graders and the SAT to 11th graders.

WHEN: Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

WHERE: Dunbar High Schools

IMPORTANT: Students must register by September 15, 2020.

A few things to know:

  • The exam will take place in-person at Dunbar High School.

  • Exam seats will be limited to 200 DPCS students to stay in accordance to health and safety guidelines.  Students without a test score on file will be given priority should we exceed 200 students wanting to take the exam. Any student not selected or who does not want to take it on October 14 can visit the College Board website and sign-up for a Saturday testing.

  • Students will need to register in advance using this form to reserve their seat by September 15. This is the date before SAT tests will need to get ordered. That said, we wanted to allow families ample time to consider their options, and reach out to their school staff for additional guidance if needed. For that reason, the college prep team will manage the registration form, and verify student’s information with the rosters OSSE sends on school’s behalf. 

  • Services for students with disabilities (SSD) testing coordinators will be sent a list of all signups for their school to verify who needs accommodations.

  • Final list of students from your school who have signed up to take the exam will be sent to you so you can help ensure they show up on October 14.

  • The SAT test coordinator for your school will be contacted if there is any additional action that needs to be taken by individual schools. We are though aiming to streamline as much as possible (including the test ordering) through Central Office.
