DCPS Enrollment Saturday – April 25th, 2020

The Enrollment Team is excited to prepare for the 3rd Annual Enrollment Saturday with My School DC on Saturday, April 25, 2020

What is Enrollment Saturday? Hosted by My School DC, the third annual 2020 Enrollment Saturday will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 9:00am – 12:00pm for families to enroll outside of school hours. This is a great opportunity for schools to enroll families leading up to the May 1, 2020 My School DC lottery enrollment deadline. In 2019, DCPS was able to complete over 1,000 enrollments at over 100 schools! The turnout was amazing and we are excited to see that and more this year!

Similar to the previous years, participating schools are expected to open at a minimum from 9am-12pm to provide families the opportunity to complete their enrollment. Your school is welcome to be open beyond 9am-12pm and at a different location from your school building but you must communicate those details to the DCPS Enrollment Team in advance so that information can be posted publicly appropriately. For example, if you are holding an enrollment event at your school and the event is from 10am-1pm, your school MUST be open and available starting at 9am and someone must be onsite able to enroll families.

Please note this event is not only for lottery-matched families, but it is also an opportunity for your current, in-boundary, and feeder families to submit their SY20-21 enrollment forms as well. Essential staffers for this day would be your school’s enrollment POCs.  Additionally, the DCPS Enrollment Team will again be sponsoring security for the event.

Next Steps: If you are interested in opting in to participate in the 2020 Enrollment Saturday, please complete this form by COB on Wednesday, March 11, 2019. Following the March 11 deadline, we will only share further correspondence from My School DC with schools who agree to participate. Please also review the 2020 Enrollment Saturday Overview for more information.

This event is a great way to work toward your SY20-21 enrollment goals and ensuring you meet all of your benchmarks. For any questions, please contact Lauren Brooks.
